Progression de l’économie, hausse phénoménale du PIB, développement sans relâche du secteur de l’information technologique, l’Inde est, depuis quelques années, acclamée par les médias occidentaux pour sa fulgurante ascension au sein des pays riches.
Kolktata, plus de 14 millions d’habitants entassés dans les dédales sans fin des innombrables ruelles. Parmi eux, près de 40 % vivent toujours dans des conditions qualifiées par l’ONU d’extrême pauvreté. Au sein même de la ville les gens s’entassent créant un peu partout, entre deux artères, des bidonvilles urbains. Et année après année la situation ne cesse de s’empirer. Avec la privatisation des terres agricoles du Bihar, un des états les plus pauvres de l’Inde, les Biharis fuient les campagnes et viennent à un rythme à proportion indienne s’entasser à Kolkata.

Mémoire des guerriers pacifiques

Communauté de l’abeille, village d’Actéal, région du Chiapas, Mexique
Chaque année, à l’approche de Noël, les 200 membres de cette petite communauté pacifique de natifs organisent la commémoration du Massacre de 1997, où 48 villageois, en majorité femmes et enfants, ont été surpris et attaqués par des hommes armés alors qu’ils se recueillaient à l’intérieur de l’église. Les blessés encore aptes à se déplacer et ceux épargnés par les tirs initiaux tentèrent de s’échapper et se dispersèrent dans la jungle dense qui entoure le village. La traque par le groupuscule armé dura des heures, pendant lesquelles les pires atrocités furent commises : torture des enfants, femmes enceintes éventrées et mutilation des corps.
Cette milice, équipée et financée par le gouvernement mexicain, existe depuis le milieu des années 1990 et vise à traquer l’armée de libération nationale zapatiste (E.Z.L.N.). Cette dernière contrôle tant bien que mal une partie du sud-ouest mexicain et y a instauré un gouvernement autonome. Les actes de répression et d’intimidation par les milices envers ceux favorables au mouvement zapatiste sont monnaie courante.
Les auteurs du tristement célèbre ”massacre d’Acteal” ont été livrés aux forces de l’ordre et ont été relâchés quelques jours plus tard, sans aucune accusation portée contre eux.

Les manifestations entourant le sommet du G20 tenu à Londres se sont déroulées somme toute dans un calme relatif, compte tenu de l’ampleur du rassemblement politique.
Les forces de l’ordre ont su contenir les déboires et la violence en large partie. Les vitrines de la Royal Bank of Scotland ont été saccagées et certains manifestants et policiers ont été la cible de coups de matraque d’un coté et de bouteilles vides de l’autre. Un homme est décédé pendant les manifestations, mais son décès n’est pas directement lié avec les altercations avec les forces de l’ordre.
La police a utilisé une technique douteuse de gestion des diverses groupements de manifestants. Les divers corps policiers ont en effet encerclé les manifestants, journalistes et passants. Ensemble nous nous sommes retrouvés coincés dans une enclave assez restreinte pendant près de 3 heures sans possibilité de sortir. Aucune exception.
Les premiers à pouvoir quitter les lieux furent les femmes. Par la suite, au compte-gouttes, les policiers ont procédé à la ‘libération’ des gens retenus sur place, via un entonnoir humain formé par la brigade antiémeute. À raison d’une personne par minute pendant une heure, la place publique face à la Bank of England fut lentement évacuée de ses manifestants exténués. La faim au ventre, plusieurs avaient commencé à badiner avec les agents de la paix tout aussi fatigués, sous les bruits sourds des endurcis partis en transe pour la nuit.

In 1998, the SN-SOSUCO (Société sucrière de la Comoé) as been privatised and since, work conditions tend to get worse and worse. With decreasing wages and temporary hiring process, that whole industry turn to a machine that is violating Humans Right every day. With a wage of 435Fcfa (About 1usd) per ton of cane that is cutted, workers are getting poorer than ever and almost the whole village of Bérégadougou is facing poverty…

Over the years, the zapatista mouvement has show not only he can make war and resist to the Mexicain Army in the jungle, but also organise many peaceful events and conferences like this one in Sancristobal de las casas. For 5 days, thinkers, philosophers, poets, historians, architects, journalists and psychologists speaks freely at the rate of two conférences a day.
The primary objective of the conference is the study and understanding of the systeme set up by the big capitalist actors of this world. Understand to denonce this system which arm terribly the least affluent in Mexico and in many others countrys throughout the world.
Immanuel Wallerstein from United States paints the picture of a irreversible declining American power, but whose dangerosity for the rest of the world increses. Ricardo Gebrim from Brazil speak about the theretical and pratical elements allowing to better understand the mouvement of the ‘’Without land’’ in Brazil. The british poet Jonh Berger makes vibrate then assistance by the reading of a tale militant on Palestine. Naomie Klen from Canada explains why Iraq is at the same time a military defeat and a stock exchange victory. Because the insecurity on a worldwide scale benefits new technologie from protection and monitoring.
In conclusion, what is coming out from this conference organized by the Zapatista movement of Mexico, by the contrahistoria review and by the University of San cristobal de las casas, it is that the change can be imposed neither from the top, nor from outside. The man and women who suffer can speak and knows theirs problems well. It is necessary for us to listen.
African refugees in Israel
Since 2005, Israel has a major problem of incoming African refugees. The flow is growing every year since then and the government his responding with expulsion, the construction of a new wall with Egypt and the distribution of few work permits.
Those permits give them a one year probation in a restricted working zone.(Eilat and Haifa)
This was a work permit distribution session in Tel-Aviv in marsh 2008.
